Research Seal 2022/2023

We are pleased to be allowed carrying the research seal of the German Stifterverband in 2022 and 2023.
Since 2014, the Stifterverband has been honouring research-based companies for their special responsibility for the state and society with the “Innovative through Research” seal. The Stifterverband is the joint initiative of companies and foundations that is the only one that provides holistic advice, networking and promotion in the areas of education, science and innovation.
We think it’s particularly great that we can also honor the term ‘research’ in our company name with this seal, because research is still a major concern for us.

AFIN-TS Forum Issue 6

In this issue of AFIN-TS Forum (AFIN-TS Forum 06) we present a sample preparation strategy for very salty samples for NTS analysis. In this study, four solid phase materials (SPE) were tested for their capabilities to reduce the salt content while retaining polar and very polar organic compounds. Two of the tested SPE phases showed hig recovery rates for the investigated compounds with very efficient reduction of the salt content.

AFIN-TS Forum Issue 5

In this issue of AFIN-TS Forum (AFIN-TS Forum 05) we present an option to couple three orthogonale separation techniques to an LC mass spectrometer, by using a DBDI ionisation source. This approach allows to analyze sample by GC, LC and SFC and to detect the analytes with the same mass spectrometer. This is very helpful for the analysis of complex samples and the identification of unknown or unexpected compounds.

This and further issues of AFIN-TS Forum can be found under Literature.

AFIN-TS Forum Issue 4

The first issue of our AFIN-TS Forum in the year 2021 is published just in time with our current Workshop ‘GCmeetsNTS’, uses the GC modeller tool EZGC Read more

NTS: An Analytical Goldmine

In the July issue of the magazine The Analytical Scientist an interview with Dr. Stefan Bieber was published.

Therein he talks about the chances and possibilities of Non-Target Screening in various disciplines. At the same time he descibes the concepts applied and consulted by AFIN-TS GmbH and the key challenges of the ‘unconventional’ start-up concept and the founding process of the company.

New publication format – AFIN-TS Forum

As part of our (research) projects we develop frequently interesting applications and work with novel and fascinating techniques. In context of a dissemination of results from such projects we typically publish ‘open access’ in peer-reviewed journals as well as in non-peer reviewed journals. Read more
